The bravest and the finest of Woodbridge Township will compete in the inaugural Woodbridge Township Police and Fire Department Fitness Competition. The challenge will take place at Woodbridge High School on Saturday, April 18, 2015. Starting at 9 a.m., teams of four from both disciplines will compete in five events on the football field. Corporate sponsors include Buckeye Pipeline, BCB Bank of Woodbridge, Miller's Ale House of Woodbridge, Crunch Fitness of Woodbridge and Blackhearts Cross Fit of Port Reading. Concessions will be served by the Woodbridge High School Marching Band. The competition will include big tire flipping, victim rescue drag, a 100-yard sprint and a 20-foot rope climb. The idea behind the event is to promote the disciplines' service to civilians and efforts to keep the members in shape. Admission to the competition is $5 for all spectators 13 years of age and older. Children 12 and under are free. All proceeds will go to support the Woodbridge Township Domestic Violence Response Team.
