Woodbridge Promotes two captains and two lieutenants

The Board of Fire Commissioners of Woodbridge Township Fire District 1 promoted two Lieutenants to the rank of Captain and two Firefighters to the rank of Lieutenant. The members of Local 290 would like to recognize Captain Michael Balog, Captain Robert Minkler Jr., Lieutenant Stephen Weber and Lieutenant David Hines. Congratulations and good luck to all!

Woodbridge Fire District 1 Swears in first career chief

The Board of Fire Commissioners of Woodbridge Fire District 1 made history on Friday, May 12, 2017. Charles Kenny, a veteran of the Woodbridge Fire Department for more than thirty years, rose through the ranks and has been provisionally promoted to the rank of Chief of the Department. This promotion makes Provisional Chief Charles Kenny the first Career Fire Chief in Woodbridge Township. The membership of Local 290 applaud the decision by this Board. Congratulations Chief Kenny!

Port Reading Firefighters Renovate Kitchen

The members of Local 290 would like to extend our appreciation to R.S. Marble and Granite of Port Reading for their generous donation of granite for the island and countertops for the newly renovated kitchen at Port Reading Fire Station 2. The members of Local 290 worked together to renovate the kitchen by removing old outdated appliances and installing commercial cookware that was donated by Buckeye Pipeline in Port Reading. The end result is a fully functioning kitchen that will serve the members for years to come.
