Woodbridge Township Fire Fighters Association I.A.F.F. Local 290 is teamed up with Saint Barnabas Burn Foundation to support the Aluminum Cans for Burned Children (ACBC) program. The residents of Woodbridge are encouraged to donate their used aluminum beverage cans. The recycling program benefits the Saint Barnabas Burn Foundations educational programs and patient assistance programs which can include providing clothing, medication, and transport to outpatient visits for burn patients. Woodbridge firefighters began collecting cans in 1988, making them one of the original departments to participate in the program. To date they have donated $21,406.21 to the Burn Foundations ACBC Program though the generosity of the Woodbridge residents. If you would like to participate in the program you can drop off your aluminum cans at the ACBC trailer located in the back of the parking lot at the Woodbridge Fire Department located at 418 School St. in Woodbridge. (Please aluminum cans only- no plastic or tin). *Saint Barnabas Burn Foundation provides supportive services to the burn victims and their families treated at The Burn Center at Saint Barnabas. In addition, the Foundations educational programs teach burn awareness, prevention and fire safety to thousands of people throughout the state of New Jersey.
